Being a native Californian, I have acquired my love for the ocean and the gifts it holds naturally. I have traveled extensively through the South Pacific, Europe, Africa, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Orient and some of the specimens I have collected in these distant areas can be seen in my present work.

My designs are unique, not to be found duplicated or reproduced in any manner. In my work, I try to capture the essence of the sea, its sensitivity, vitality and quiet subtlety. I take pride in my designs because I believe each to be an extension of myself and a way to reflect my moods and feelings.

Most of all, I have tried to convey a warm, rhythmic gracefulness in my art forms so as to emulate the oceanic environment from which my materials were created. I hope that through my art work, you too can share my love for the sea and can experience, enjoy and rediscover its simple beauty.

The Embossing Process

This seashell embossing is accomplished by a method called blind embossing using a multilevel brass dye which has been hand sculpted.

A three dimensional effect is created when the brass dye, its counterpart and paper are put through a printing press and stamped with a heat-pressure method.

To achieve the added color, each print has been stamped with a pastel foil. Each piece is a limited edition and is signed and numbered.
